I am thinking about the Gardens at Yaddo because we went there this time of year a few years ago with Scott’s mom Shelly. She was supposed to come for a visit next week, but due to conflicts, it’s likely we won’t see her until the Fall. Regardless of this tidbit, with or without mother-in-law, if you’ve never been to Yaddo in Saratoga Springs, NY, it’s worth the trip.
“Founded in 1900 by the financier Spencer Trask and his wife Katrina, herself a poet, Yaddo is an artists’ community located on a 400-acre estate in Saratoga Springs, New York. Its mission is to nurture the creative process by providing an opportunity for artists to work without interruption in a supportive environment. ” Their list of past artists in residence is impressive.
